I bought this for my lab mix after he had tie-back surgery for laryngeal paralysis. I was already using slow-feeding bowls for him, and the vet suggested I elevate his dishes. There aren't many bowls that are self-serving AND elevated. A friend of mine tried the plastic, and said the legs collapsed. I thought this looked good, and I bought 2 more with regular bowls for my 2 other senior dogs. I bought 3 different bow is because 2 dogs need to lose weight, and one needs to gain a few lbs.
