Well, for this bowl, second time is the charm for us.The manufacturers packaging for this ceramic bowl is really lacking. The bowl is simply in thin bubble wrap and a thin cardboard box. The first delivery arrived in pieces.As with all things Amazon, the return process was super easy and we got a replacement in just a few days.The replacement is actually awesome. The weight of the bowl is perfect and the bottom rubber "shoe" works perfectly for keeping the bowl in place. No issues with our dog having to chase the bowl across the floor!The rubber bottom shoe can be completely removed for easy washing, which we absolutely love.All in all, the bowl is really great - made from a beautiful ceramic with a nice rubber shoe for antiskid purposes.One other negative, aside from the poor manufacturers packaging, is that the bowl has a sticker on the side that we had some difficulty removing ( we had to soak it to remove it ) ... if this had been on the bottom, it wouldn't have bothered us at all.FYI: we got the small/light gray version.Product was perfect fory large dogThis bowl does not move even when the dog tries to upend it. It is non skid and non tippable Looks great with clean lines and discreet color.I had been looking for a very specific feeding system that meets my dog’s and my floor’s needs, and this is it! Very nice looking, solid, heavy base. Removable nonslip silicone covers the bottom and does not move on floor. Diameter of bowl big enough for my 85lb dog’s broad snout, and water does not splash on the floor! The best part, the inside of the bowl is curved at bottom so no food gets stuck in corners of bowl. And can go from microwave to dishwasher. Highly recommend!I mistook the images of both sizes of this item, for a shallow ceramic bowl that was elevated on a sturdy, matching, ceramic base. These are really single deep bowls, not elevated on any base: What appears to be a ceramic base is not a base, but is only a matching-in-color, very thin, flimsy, bowl-shaped silicone cover which extends over and under the bottom halves of the single deep bowls.The bowl shaped silicone cover over the lower part of these bowls, is so flimsy that it could not be used as a bowl in itself, and turned over- collapses w/any weight. A small circular or other shaped silicone mat laying flat under these porcelain bowls would have accomplished the same thing.The bowls come in a small and in a larger size in white and light grey: they are very heavy Porcelain bowls, smooth, made well, but much heavier than a Stainless Steel bowl of the same size.The MADE IN CHINA sticker is a serious pain to remove.My 60-pound Standard Poodle goes on vigorous walks, and he drinks a good amount when we come home. I like to have a deep water bowl for him on hot days. I was looking for a ceramic bowl he can use. I saw this one, and decided to give it a try. He likes it so far!The bowl is simple but attractive. It's pure white, with a silicone non-slip base that is slightly off-white. The non-slip base runs the full bottom, and up along the sides, which is nice because it helps you grip the bowl when it's full of water (and fairly heavy). The non-slip coating really works. The bowl surface is nice and smooth, and easy to clean.My only complaint -- this bowl has a sticker on it that is nearly impossible to remove. I've scraped at it, run it through the dishwasher, and scraped some more, but it took several days to get it all off. That's annoying.A great water bowl (once that sticker is gone). I recommend it.Yep, you read that right.I legitimately bought this bowl because Charlie’s previous bowl was hideous. It was ceramic with a rustic checkerboard pattern/paw prints and I’ve always loathed it… so when Amazon slid this beauty in front of my peepers I was nearly powerless to resist its simple elegance.As he ate Charlie would push that awful looking thing across the floor, creating a sound not entirely unlike that of a man with a glass pegleg falling up a flight of steps.So when he had his first meal out of this delightful alabaster vessel I quickly became unsettled by something that I couldn’t place—until I realized the sound was gone. Yep, this bowl’s silicone lower cover(rubber bowl pants?) keeps the whole thing relatively stationary, and thus, silent.Aside from that? Looks nice. Holds food. Not a whole lot to have feelings about.
